USDA Integrated Research, Education, and Extension Competitive Grants Program -- Integrated Organic and Water Quality Program RFA (Deadline is July 24, 2009)
The Integrated Organic and Water Quality Program's purpose is to explore the changes in water quality and/or water quantity associated with certified organic farming practices. Projects must integrate research, education, and extension. Up to $220,000 per year may be requested for projects 1-3 years in duration. Proposals are due July 24, 2009.
Proposals are being solicited in the following three areas:
1. The impact of organic cropping systems on water quality and/or quantity,
2. The impact of organic animal production systems on water quality and/or quantity, and
3. The impact of mixed use (crop and animal production systems) on water quality and/or quantity.
