Subject: NIFA Releases Methyl Bromide Transitions RFA

The National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA) is pleased to announce the release of the FY 2011 Request for Applications (RFAs) for the Methyl Bromide Transitions (MBT) program. The primary goal of the MBT program is to support the discovery and implementation of practical pest management alternatives to methyl bromide uses or minimize methyl bromide emissions for which the United States is requesting critical use exemptions. For FY 2011, NIFA is soliciting applications to ensure that economically viable and environmentally sound alternatives to methyl bromide are in place and available as soon as possible for the current 2012 Critical Use Nominations. The program is focused on integrated commercial or field scale research that targets short- to medium-term solutions and associated extension activity that will foster the adoption of these solutions.

Deadline: Applications must be received by Grants.gov by 5 p.m. Eastern Time on Wednesday, June 22, 2011.
