California's Nectarines
Kent,
The following information is from Gary VanSickle with the California Tree Fruit Agreement. Gary is commenting on the need to retain the use of Ziram on nectarines.
The use on nectarines is the only significant use which is due for cancellation in CA.

Re: Proposed Ziram Revocations and Cancellations: California's Nectarines
Rick,
Some of the feedback I got was that Ziram is very important for growers and some feel that the alternatives are not as effective. It is basically used for peach leaf cure and shot hole control, and some use it as a blossom protectant. The main alternative is copper sulfate, but there is some evidence that its use causes a dark surface staining on nectarine varieties whereas the Ziram does not.
I am not sure if Ziram can be reformulated or not. I was told it may have some carbamate in it.
