Teung,
Pineapple growers in Hawaii are not using Mocap EC.
HOWEVER, Dole has informed me that their pineapple operations in Latin American are using Mocap EC and in the Philippines, they are using a granular ethoprop product. They would prefer to use the EC in the Philippines, but the granular is the only product that is available there.
Dole has a company policy that says they are to follow any U.S. regulations for their practices, even if the field is outside the U.S. (If any local regulation is more restrictive than the U.S. regulation, Dole follows the local regulation.) Therefore, if there is no U.S. label for Mocap EC, it means they won't use it in fields elsewhere in the world. But, Mocap is the only chemical they have to control symphylids (Latin America) and grubs (P.I.) For this reason, not because of Hawaii production, Dole does not want Mocap EC cancelled on pineapples.
I have communicated this information to Bayer.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact me.
