International Dry Pea, Lentil and Chickpea Pest Management Strategic Planning Workshop

Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada
June 25-27, 2002

An international Pest Management Strategic Plan (PMSP) for dry peas, lentils and chickpeas will be developed by growers, commodity leaders, university specialists, and processors from the U.S. and Canada using a facilitated workshop format. For more information on the PMSP process, access Crop Profiles (http://www.wrpmc.ucdavis.edu/CropProfiles/index.html) on the Western Region Pest Management Center site.

Space is available at the workshop for observers who wish to have a seat in the audience section. The PMSP will focus on dry pea, lentil and chickpea production in the U.S. and Canada and will address pest management needs and priorities. The workshop will take a pest-by-pest approach for discussion to identify all current pest management practices as well as those under development. The final plan will state the research, regulatory and education needs of these three industries as identified by the participants.
