Funding Opportunities

Almond Board of California
Proposal Deadline: December 20, 2002

During January and February 2003, the Almond Board of California (Federal Marketing Order) will be considering new as well as ongoing research projects for possible funding during the 2003-04 fiscal year.

The Almond Board's Production Research Committee requests that researchers with ongoing projects briefly state the accomplishments from the previous years funding cycle as well as what they hope to accomplish with the proposed funding. Current project leaders are asked to justify any increase of 10 o/c over their previous year's request for funding.

All proposals must be prepared on or accompanied by a Project PIan/Research Grant Proposal form; a copy of this form is located at the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at 118 Everson Hall, University of California, Davis. Please make sure both pages of the forms are completed and signed by the department chair (for campus affiliated staff) or county director (for farm advisors).

For continuing projects with major changes in approach and for new projects, the UC Almond Research Advisory Committee requests a detailed description of objectives and methodology. All proposals should include enough information so that the purpose, methodology, etc., are self-explanatory as the proposals go through the review process.

Researchers on the Davis campus need to submit a signed copy of their proposal plus data sheets to the UC Davis Office of Vice Chancellor for Research for approval before sending to the appropriate office or agency.

Guidelines and Project Plan/Research Grant Proposal forms can be picked up at the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research at 118 Everson Hall, UC Davis.
