UCCE IPM Demonstration Grants for 2007-08 (Deadline is October 15, 2007)From: Melanie Caruso [mailto:mmcaruso@ucdavis.edu] UC IPM has funding from ANR for a new Cooperative Extension IPM Demonstration Grants Program. The program's goal is to promote the implementation of IPM practices in production agriculture and in residential and urban areas, and to protect natural areas such as wildlands and water bodies through demonstrations of IPM practices. The primary focus is to increase adoption of IPM programs. The program will bridge the gap in the research-extension continuum by taking research results from individual research sites on campuses, research centers, and counties and demonstrating them in new locations and situations. Advisors and Specialists are especially encouraged to submit ideas for IPM adoption projects. UC CE Advisors and Specialists are eligible to submit proposals, and AES scientists are encouraged to partner with Advisors or Specialists on projects that demonstrate their research. Proposals are due to UC IPM by October 15, 2007. Funding is available for projects to be carried out from November 1, 2007 through September 30, 2008. See the request for proposals for full details; the RFP is also posted at http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/IPMPROJECT/demorfp2007-08.html. If you have questions, please contact me or one of the other contacts listed on the RFP. Melanie Caruso on behalf of: Peter B. Goodell, PhD |
